Help run our organisation

SARI was set up more than 30 years ago by a group of people who had all experienced hate crime. Today, it is still led by people who know what that’s like, although others who want to support the work we do are also welcome to join us.

A meeting of the Board of Trustees

Full membership

If you share our passion for supporting victims of hate crime, why not join our membership team? We help steer the direction of SARI and make decisions about the work we do in our communities.

To become a full member, you’ll need to be a previous SARI client whose case is now closed. Or someone who has experience of suffering hate crime and lives and works within the South West. It will mean you can attend, speak and vote at our general meetings, and stand for election to the Board of Trustees.

If you’d like to apply or find out more, please get in touch with us.

Speaker at Annual General Meeting

Informal membership

If you’re one of our current SARI clients, you can apply to be an informal member. You’ll be able to attend and speak at our general meetings but won’t be able to vote or stand for election to the Board of Trustees. Once your case is closed, you’ll be able to apply for full membership.

If you’d like to apply or find out more, please get in touch with us.

Associate membership

If you want to support our work, but don’t have direct experience of hate crime, you can still become an Associate Member. That means you can attend and speak at our general meetings but won’t be able to vote or stand for election to the Board of Trustees.

If you’d like to apply or find out more, please get in touch with us.
