Annual General Meeting 20-21

On Tuesday 18 January we held our Annual General Meeting for the financial year 2020-2021. Just like last year, we held it on Zoom as a result of the pandemic. This year we were marking our 30th anniversary, and guests speakers included:

  • Lord Alf Dubs; a holocaust survivor and leading refugee rights advocate. Lord Dubs was formerly the MP for Battersea and Director of the Refugee Council. He was appointed as a life peer in 1994.
  • Hau-Yu Tam is Head of Campaigns at End Violence and Racism Against ESEA Communities.
  • Manoel Bolutife Akure is a photographer. Along with Felix Russel-Saw, they photographed the famous Colston statue toppling. They sold one very popular print, and chose to donate the profits to us.

During the meeting we also heard moving personal stories directly from our clients, and an update from our Director (Strategic) Alex Raikes MBE.

We’d like to thank everybody – speakers, clients, agency reps, and everyone else – for coming, sharing, listening and learning.
