As Ramadan draws to an end, we thought we’d share this new booklet put together by Bristol City Council, University of Bristol, the Bristol Muslim Strategic Leadership Group and a few of us here at SARI. The document recognises the contributions that Muslims make in Bristol as a city and Britain as a whole.
With a foreword from Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, the booklet covers the core beliefs of Islam, the early Islamic immigrants to the UK, and the cultural and scientific contributions the community has made since. A detailed FAQ covers misunderstood topics, answering questions on Shari’ah law, female empowerment and terrorism.
It’s also a great resource for the Muslim community, with details of lots of organisations that offer all sorts of support and advice to Muslims in Bristol.
